Costa Rica: Into the rainforest
Costa Rica was more than just another place to visit. It combined travel, nature, science, fieldwork, and the experience of being completely surrounded by a new environment.
Days in the field felt different from normal travel. Instead of simply seeing a place, I was paying attention to what lived there, how the environment changed, and what I could learn from being in it.
Some trips give you photos. Others change the way you look at the world around you.
From rainforest trails and wildlife encounters to research moments, rafting and coffee, Costa Rica became a journey filled with discovery.

THE STORY
Arriving somewhere completely different
The best part of a new place is that almost everything feels unfamiliar at first. Costa Rica quickly became more than another destination on a map. The landscape, the forests, the sounds, the food and the pace of each day made the trip feel different from normal campus life.
Learning through the rainforest
Because biology and nature are already a big part of my life, being surrounded by a tropical rainforest made the experience even more meaningful. It was one thing to learn about ecosystems in class and another thing to actually walk through one, notice wildlife, and pay attention to the small details around me.
Some of the strongest travel memories are not planned attractions. They are the moments when you stop, look around, and realize you are experiencing something you could never fully understand from a screen.
Adventure changed the pace
The trip was not only about observing. Rafting and exploring gave it a completely different energy. Those moments made the journey feel active and unpredictable, and they are exactly the kind of experiences I want Sushan Ventures to capture.
Food, coffee and everyday experiences
Travel also becomes memorable through ordinary things: trying a meal, holding local currency, stopping for coffee, meeting an animal along the way, or simply watching the scenery pass by. Those smaller moments are part of the journey too, which is why I want this website to preserve more than just the biggest highlights.
What I took from the trip
Costa Rica reminded me why I want to keep traveling and documenting what I experience. I do not want Sushan Ventures to be only about showing beautiful places. I want it to show what I noticed, what I learned, what surprised me, and how each journey changes the way I see the world.

Costa Rica: More Than a Trip
Costa Rica brought together almost everything I enjoy about travel: nature, wildlife, learning, adventure, local experiences and the unexpected moments that happen in between.
What made it different
The rainforest changed the way I paid attention to a place. Instead of only looking for major landmarks, I found myself noticing animals, plants, sounds, weather and the details that made the environment feel alive.
The trip became more memorable when I stopped thinking only about where I was going and started paying attention to what was happening around me.
The adventure side
Rafting and exploring added a completely different energy to the journey. Those moments are part of why I want Sushan Ventures to document experiences rather than simply collect destinations.
What stayed with me
The biggest takeaway was simple: travel becomes more meaningful when I give myself time to learn from a place instead of only passing through it.

NATURE & WILDLIFE
After Dark in the Rainforest
The rainforest felt completely different after sunset. Small animals that were easy to miss during the day suddenly became some of the most interesting parts of the experience.
Looking more closely
Seeing frogs, small reptiles, birds and other wildlife reminded me that many of the most interesting parts of nature are not the biggest or loudest ones. Sometimes the experience comes from slowing down enough to notice them.
A night walk can make a familiar trail feel like a completely new ecosystem.
Why I wanted to keep these moments
This is the kind of experience that fits Sushan Ventures perfectly: travel, biology, curiosity and discovery all happening at the same time.

LOCAL EXPERIENCE
From Coffee Cherry to Cup
Coffee is something people see every day, but visiting a coffee farm made me think about the process behind it in a completely different way.
Seeing the process
Being able to look at the plant, fruit and beans up close connected the final cup to the landscape where it begins. It turned something ordinary into part of the travel experience.
Travel gets more interesting when an everyday object suddenly has a place, a process and a story behind it.
Why this belongs on the site
Sushan Ventures is not only about major attractions. Experiences like this are important because they show how travel can also be about understanding how people live, work and create things.
